"Moving, Moving, Moving! Migration Patterns within Germany" with Ursula C. Krause

Ursula C. Krause Photo This presentation covers all of Germany including Pomerania.
Despite their reputation for being rooted to their localities, Germans do have a history of migration within their own country, especially after the onset of industrialization in the mid-19th century. In this presentation, we will explore the various patterns of internal migration, and offer guidance on how to navigate these movements to aid in the search for your ancestors.

Ursula is a German genealogist with a law degree. She began her professional genealogy career in 2009 when she founded Rootseekers - Genealogical Research and More. After many years as a senior genealogist with AncestryProGenealogists, she founded My German Family www.mygermanfamily.com.

Ursula now focuses on 20th-century research, helping adopted children find their roots and reuniting families who have lost touch over the years. Her deep commitment and meticulous research skills made her a sought-after expert in this field. Her work has been featured on prestigious genealogical television shows such as "Finding Your Roots", Who Do You Think You Are” and "Every Family Has A Secret," as well as in an award-winning documentary film “The Upside Down Book”. She is an experienced teacher and speaker with over 30 years of experience.
